Dex Entry: Sparcores are large birds that nest on the ground or in low hanging branches in large fields or savannas. To protect the eggs in their nests, Sparcores weave their nests out of metal wires stolen from towns and cities, and electrically charge them to deter predators. On rare occasions, large flocks of Sparcore can be seen traveling overhead, making people think that a storm is coming due to the flock's collective, storm cloud-like appearance, and the statically charged air that comes with the flock. These flocks are very rare because Sparcore only fly in large numbers in order to follow and protect the legendary Zapdos if one passes through their territory.

Name idea based on a combo of spark and Corella. The spark for the electrical theme (duh), and Corella for the bird design. Corella are a subgroup of parrot closely related to Cockatoos (those white parrots with the large yellow head crests). Here's a link to a page about them: [link]
